About

Nichole Bauer, Associate Professor (Ph.D. Indiana University), holds appointments at LSU in both the Department of Political Science and the Manship School of Mass Communication.  She conducts research on gender and policies, specifically focusing on how strategic political communication affects voters' impression about women in politics.  Her research has appeared in journals such as Journal of Politics, Political Psychology, Political Behavior, and Politics, Groups, & Identities.  She is the author of The Qualifications Gap: Why Women Must be Better than Men to Win Political Office (Cambridge University Press), and is the editor of Politicking While Female: The Political Lives of Women (LSU Press).
