AASG 2025. The 117th annual meeting of the Association of American State Geologists—hosted by the Louisiana Geological Survey—will be held from 31 May to 6 June 2025 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. More information here.

The Louisiana Geological Survey, LSU, and the LGS Director search committee are proud to announce the new Director of LGS. Dr. Clare Falcon has become the new state geologist of Louisiana and director of the Louisiana Geological Survey. See her biography here.

The natural resources of the state of Louisiana are a very important economic source of revenue, and it is important that the citizens of Louisiana understand and have knowledge of these valuable assets to better manage them.
