LSU has named a new dean of the College of Art & Design, effective July 1, pending approval by the LSU Board of Supervisors. Arne Flaten is currently the head of the Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance and a professor of Art History at Purdue University.

Louisiana State University (LSU) has been awarded a $220,871 grant from the National Park Service's Save America's Treasures program to conserve and protect the historic LSU Campus Mounds--two ancient, nationally significant archaeological landmarks that date back at least 6,000 years.
