Graduate Minor
The Division of Computer Science and Engineering offers a graduate minor in computer science (GCSC). To earn the minor, students must fulfill the course requirements listed below, and a CSE faculty member must serve on their exam committee. For more information, students are encouraged to contact the CSE graduate advisor, Dr. Qingyang Wang.
Graduate Minor Requirements
- Students must take three (3) or more approved CSC courses totaling at least 9 credit hours.
- At least one course must be at the 7000 level, while the other two may be at either the 4000 or 7000 level. Only lecture-based CSC courses of three (3) or more credit hours are eligible.
- Non-lecture courses — including, but not limited to, CSC 4999, CSC 7090, CSC 7800, CSC 7999, CSC 8000, and CSC 9000 — do not count toward the GCSC minor.
- To qualify for the minor, a grade of B- or higher is required in each course. Students may retake a course to improve their grade or choose a different approved course to replace any course where the minimum grade was not achieved.
